Conference Dinner

Included in the registration fee for the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Conference is the Conference Dinner held on Friday 14th September 2007.  The dinner has an unusual but spectacular twist as we have taken the opportunity to use one of the Capital City’s main attractions.  This evening will consist of a cruise along the river with a three course meal plus drinks. The two impressive boats we will use are being supplied by Thames Luxury Charters:

The Dixie QueenThe Dixie Queen

This stunning boat is the result of a $10 million conversion turning it into a luxurious replica of a 19th century Mississippi Paddleboat.  She is now Britain's largest conference, party and event boat, based right by Tower Bridge!

The Elizabethan

Interior of the Elizabethan

The Elizabethan is perfect replica of a 1890s Mississippi Stern-wheeled Paddle Steamer that beautifully reflects the style and craftsmanship of that bygone era. Concealed behind the Victorian exterior are truly elegant surroundings highlighted here in the pictures.

Our route will pass by many of London’s fascinating sites.  A few to mention are HMS Belfast, Canary Wharf Pier and the Millennium Dome.  The famous London Tower Bridge will be raised in order to allow the Dixie Queen, the larger of the boats, to sail through.

As previously mentioned this conference dinner is included in the price of registration, however, if you do require an extra ticket for a partner to attend the dinner as your guest you may book another space.  This will be at an additional fee of £58.75 (£50 + VAT).  If you do require an extra ticket please complete the booking form and fax to the Elsevier office on +441865 843958 or send to Nina Woods, The Conference Secretariat: Elsevier Ltd, The Boulevard, Langford Lane, Kidlington, Oxford, OX5 1GB.
